Admissions Application
The
Admissions Application captures the whole
student. Therefore, it is very important to be familiar
with the different application sections and understand how
best to complete them. Once the application form is understood,
there are three key areas that require careful preparation:
essay questions, activity summary, and letters
of recommendation.
The
purpose of essay questions is to gain insight into a student's
passion, initiative, and sincere love for learning. It is
important to understand the intent of the questions and
know how best to respond. The responses to the questions
reveal a student's character, culture, social outlook, life
challenges, and depth of intellectual ability.
The
Activity Summary is a comprehensive list of a student's
extracurricular activities, including community service,
student organizations, arts and athletics. The purpose of
the Summary is to highlight a student's activities outside
of the classroom. The key is to emphasize the activities
that reflect a student's uniqueness.
The
letters of recommendations are one of the most important
components of the admissions application. Colleges depend
on teacher recommendations to support and validate the student's
academic background and passion for learning.
