Student Profile
The
Student Profile gives direction to the college
search. The Profile is developed through a process of personal
reflection, inquiry and goal setting for the purpose of
empowering students as they transition to their next phase
in life - attending a university! The key steps for
developing the Profile include the Preliminary Assessment
and School Matching.
The
Preliminary Assessment is an important opportunity to review
and evaluate the student's academic background, extracurricular
activities, and ambitions. Through discussions and exploration,
the student begins to take an active role for identifying
and defining clear educational objectives. The personal
exploration begins with an assessment of the student's most
dominant strengths. The Preliminary Assessment can then
be tailored to complement the student's strengths,
and it results in a preliminary list of prospective colleges.
Building
on the Preliminary Assessment, School Matching is the next
step towards confirming the college list, developing a strategic
plan, and creating a personalized admissions application
package.
