College Search
The
College Search is an exciting adventure in
a student's transition from high school to college. The
search begins with the Student Profile. The Student
Profile, including the Preliminary Assessment and
School Matching, gives direction to the college search
and leads to a final list of prospective colleges. College
First Consulting uses an important strengths-based
approach for enhancing the Student Profile. By first determining
each student's most dominant personal strengths, College
First Consulting is able to develop a more accurate
Preliminary Assessment and guide the School Matching according
to each student's strengths.
The
next step is the Admissions Application, which captures
the whole student. The three key areas for the admissions
application are the essay questions, activity
summary, and letters of recommendation.
Additional
steps in the college search include the Financial Aid
Application, School Visits, Interviews
and Academic Success Training. Financial aid is an
important source of funding for meeting the costs of a college
education. The school visit is an important step for making
a personal connection to the college. The interview is an
opportunity for the student to make a positive impression.
Academic Success Training is necessary for understanding
and applying a learning culture that fosters student
success. Through the Academic Success Training, including
an introduction to Emotional Intelligence and a foundation
for leadership development, College First Consulting
works to prepare tomorrow's scholars and leaders!
The
college search ends with Submitting College Applications
and the Final College Selection. This leads into
the next phase in a student's life - attending a university!
